SONEPUR: State DGP Narain Mishra inaugurated an exhibition on crime prevention at the Sonepur fair on Monday.
Later, while addressing mediapersons, the DGP admitted that the Bihar police special team, formed to rescue the kidnapped NHPC officials, could achieve only partial success as one of the kidnapped officials, T Mandal, is still traceless.
"Mandal would be recovered soon and we are conducting raids at possible hideouts of criminals," said Mishra.
Was K K Singh released after paying ransom? Mishra refused to answer the question.
The DGP said about 22 criminals were killed in 15 police encounters and 32 mini gun factories were unearthed in the state till September.
Later, the DGP Mishra attended a cultural programme. Arvind Pandey, IPS, and other artists presented folk and patriotic songs at the programme.
Many IAS and IPS officers, including Harjot Kaur, Dipak Kumar Singh and Shobha Ohatker, were present on the occasion. At the exhibition, a model of community policing in Nalanda was put on display.
